Itinerary
Day 1 After boarding your holiday coach. We embark on our adventure with a visit to the quaint market town of Stow on the Wold. Here you will have the opportunity to explore the elegant townhouses, charming shops, antique emporiums, cosy cafes, and traditional inns, all crafted from the distinctive local stone. Enjoy leisure time for lunch and sightseeing in this picturesque setting before we continue to our hotel to unwind before dinner.
Day 2 After a delightful breakfast, we journey to the historic City of Gloucester. Immerse yourself in its rich history and architectural wonders, including the magnificent 11th-century cathedral, renowned as one of the finest medieval structures in the country and the final resting place of Royalty. After lunch, we proceed to Sudeley Castle & Gardens, a Tudor gem steeped in 1,000 years of history. Explore this picturesque castle, the only private castle to have a queen buried on its grounds – Katherine Parr, the last wife of Henry VIII.
Day 3 Today we explore the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, nestled amidst the stunning Warwickshire countryside. Known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare, the town is steeped in history and heritage. Wander through its black and white timbered buildings, visit Holy Trinity Church where Shakespeare rests, or opt for a serene canal cruise to soak in the Old English charm.
Day 4 As our memorable retreat draws to a close, we enjoy a leisurely breakfast and check-out. We make a stop at Cirencester, known as the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’. Situated in the heart of the Cotswolds, it boasts a fascinating history dating back to Roman times when it was the second largest town in the country after London. Explore the town’s attractions before we embark on our journey home.
