Itinerary
Day 1 We set off towards the beautiful coastal town of Torquay. Enjoy a relaxing journey with comfort stops, arriving at the Devonshire hotel late afternoon. Settle into your comfortable room & unwind before dinner
Day 2 Today we travel to the picturesque Teign Valley to visit the charming town of Dawlish, famous for its iconic black swans that grace the local waterways. Enjoy some leisure time before we venture to the coastal gem of Teignmouth, known for its stunning Georgian architecture.
Day 3 We begin the day with a visit to the historic market town of Newton Abbott, nestled in breathtaking South Devon countryside. Explore the vibrant shops, restaurants and open spaces, including a Saturday outdoor and indoor Pannier Market. We then journey to the Dartmoor village of Widecombe in the Moor, a place rich in history, famous for Widecombe Fair and Uncle Tom Cobley. Explore charming cafes and fine old inns and browse the craft and gift shops.
Day 4 Today promises to be truly memorable as we visit the postcard-pretty town of Totnes. Immerse yourself in its rich history as you follow the intriguing town trail, discover stunning architecture and charming streets. Perhaps visit the impressive Norman castle that overlooks the town. The highlight of the day is a scenic journey on the South Devon Railway, the oldest steam railway in the southwest. Sit back and enjoy a scenic seven-mile ride through the picturesque valley of the River Dart.
Day 5 Sadly, all great things must come to an end. We bid a fond farewell to the beautiful county of Devon. Enjoy a comfortable journey home with stops along the way, reflecting on the wonderful memories made.
