Itinerary
Day 1 We head northward with comfort stops on the way. Our main stop is the charming market town of Newark, where you’ll have time to explore and enjoy a leisurely lunch. Continuing, we will arrive at the Esplanade Hotel in Scarborough, where you can settle in and unwind before dinner.
Day 2 Today, we travel along the stunning coastal road to the historic fishing port of Whitby, once home to the legendary Captain James Cook. Explore the Gothic grandeur of Whitby Abbey, the inspiration behind Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and stroll through the quaint cobbled streets and bustling harbourside. Maybe enjoy Whitby’s famous fish and chips! We’ll visit Robin Hood’s Bay, a picturesque old fishing village nestled on the Heritage Coast of the North York Moors, offering stunning views and a rich maritime history.
Day 3 After breakfast, we set off for the ancient City of York. Here we will embark on a delightful sightseeing cruise on the River Ouse to uncover intriguing facts about the city. York is brimming with attractions, from the renowned National Railway Museum to the Viking history of The Jorvik Centre. Take time to stroll around the medieval City Walls, explore the charming shops along the Shambles, and the quaint alleyways.
Day 4 Today is yours to discover Scarborough at your own pace. Wander through the tranquil South Cliff Gardens or explore the dramatic ruins of Scarborough Castle for a glimpse into the town’s storied past. Enjoy the bustling seafront, complete with amusement arcades, shellfish stalls, and delightful ice cream parlours. For something a little different, visit Peasholm Park with its serene boating lake and miniature railway, or dive into the wonders of marine life at the Scarborough Sea Life Sanctuary.
Day 5 After breakfast we bid farewell to Scarborough and begin our journey home. Along the way, we’ll make comfort stops, including a visit to Beverley, a stunning market town with a towering gothic minister. We then continue our journey, arriving home with wonderful memories of your time away
