Itinerary
Day 1 We begin our journey with an early departure, making comfort stop en route to Trentham Country Estate and a quick stop at Gretna Green. We arrive at the Doubletree by Hilton Westerwood Hotel in the late afternoon, where you can settle in before dinner is served.
Day 2 Our day begins with a visit to the historic city of Stirling, Explore the Old Town, dominated by the impressive Castle, once home of Scottish kings. After time to explore Stirling, we continue to the charming town Callander, home to the Rob Roy & Trossachs Visitor Centre. The highlight of the day is a delightful circular cruise on Loch Katrine, set amidst the stunning scenery of the Trossachs. The Loch is steeped in history, with connections to Queen Victoria, Sir Walter Scott and the legendary Rob Roy MacGregor.
Day 3 Step back in time as we embark on a memorable journey along the shores of the River Forth aboard the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway. We then visit The Kelpies, the world’s largest equine sculptures, which stand over 100 feet tall and pay tribute to Scotland’s horse powered heritage and are a sight to behold. Our day continues with a trip on the unique Falkirk Wheel, the world’s first and only rotating boat lift. Experience the thrill of sailing along the canal, while taking in the panoramic views from this remarkable engineering marvel.
Day 4 What a treat we have today as we embark on an unforgettable boat cruise on the Firth of Forth. Relax onboard the 1.5-hour cruise of this UNESCO World Heritage site, taking in the spectacular Three Bridges, the beautiful panoramas of the Edinburgh skyline and Inchcolm Island with its medieval abbey. In the afternoon we head to Scotland’s capital city of Edinburgh. You’ll have time to explore the city at your own pace, and for a panoramic view of the city, consider hopping on one of the many open-top sightseeing buses.
Day 5 After an early breakfast, we bid a fond farewell to Bonnie Scotland. We begin our journey home with comfort stop to take in the pottery experience of Stoke-on-Trent at Middleport Pottery, taking with us the wonderful memories of this scenic and historic tour.
